I have never been so mad with an Affiliate Marketing program as I am with Affiliate Junktion. This is a program I joined when I first started in February. Of course, I didn't know much at all about marketing when I started, so I get very few signups.
Around September I started using Google & Yahoo advertising. I needed to make some real money with this stuff and I figured the exchanges were okay, but I needed immediate response. With PPC, I got it.
In September I got 2,148 confirmed leads. If you don't know much about Affiliate Junktion, this is the summed up version.
You get a $75 sign up bonus when you buy hosting ($60). You upload your site and then you start advertising. You get paid $2 per lead. When you hit $200 in earnings (excluding the bonus), you get paid.
Here are the problems I found over my past 3 months advertising:
NZD - That's right - Instead of $2/lead in USD, they switched the platform to NZD. At the time, that was about 70cents on the dollar, so you still got about $1.40/lead - Not that bad. As time has gone on, that same NZD is now worth about 52cents.
So for each $2 lead, you are barely getting a little over $1
But it gets better. See they don't actually pay for these "leads" - Nope, what they do is they keep all these leads in Pending Status. The payment terms USED to be 30 days after the month commissions were earned. Now it's 45 days. That money that I earned in September was JUST released yesterday (November 30th)
It Gets EVEN BETTER PEOPLE! Here is the real kicker - You know that whole "Paid for Free Leads" thing they advertise? Well, I sent nothing but Yahoo & Google PPC advertising to get my 2,148 leads in September - How much are they going to pay me? $1,473....NZD - This works out to be about $750ish -
That $1,473 NZD INCLUDES my previous earnings of $193 (Including my bonus and the previous signups)
So for me spending about $1,300 in PPC advertising in JUST September, I am getting back ROUGHLY $800....60 days AFTER I spent all that money.
Affiliate Junktion holds onto the payments for that long because not all these leads are "approved" - Now, I understand normal terms and conditions. I'm not some huge whiner who thinks I should make what the owner of a company makes. But by them paying 1,473NZD they cut off nearly 70% of my APPROVED LEADS! (Not clicks - I got THOUSANDS of clicks, these are just the "confirmed leads" that I was SUPPOSED to be paid for....
Cutting off 10-20% of my leads I MIGHT understand - But 70%!?!?!?!
What does Affiliate Junktion make from users who buy hosting? An IPower Affiliate Earns $100 per signup
So even if only 10% of my 2,148 signups followed through, Affiliate Junktion would have made over $20,000 - Oh, and I'm just GUESSING, but I would assume they get paid in USD still.
I think 10% of my signups would be too low actually - I think Affiliate Junktion sells itself damn nicely and I would venture to say that closer to 20% of my leads would actually follow up and use the program.
Now obviously I don't actually KNOW how many of my signups went through and bought hosting. But doesn't 10% seem like a reasonable number? My 2,148 signups were people who visited my AJ site, clicked through and THEN left their name & email to figure out more info -
Wouldn't it make sense that at least 10% of those people, after giving name & email info, would actually follow through with the program?
So out of $20,000 (Probably more), I am getting about $800...And that's AFTER I spent close to $1,300 on advertising to get those leads.
This payment is just for September. In November my Affiliate Junktion signups went way down. I kept sending in 180 to 220 clicks daily, but suddenly I was only getting 15-20 signups/day. I changed my site to something I thought looked better, and I sent in a support ticket.
I got a response that users were committing some type of fraud, so they implemented some type of double confirmation for a lead to count.
Over the past 2 weeks my "leads" haven't even covered my advertising costs.
Affiliate Junktion has changed the terms and conditions of their website continuously over the past 3 months. NZD was just the start. They used to have a program where if you got 2,500 signups/month, for 3 months, you would start earning $4/lead. That is now gone. When I first signed up in February they paid $2-$5/lead - USD - Now it's $2, but NZD - IF you don't get 70% of your leads slashed, of course.
Affiliate Junktion offers no residual income. You get the $2/lead (if you actually ever get it) and that's it - They offer no bonuses - They took that away. They also had a guarantee of $150/day in your first 30 days when I first signed up in February - That was cancelled by March...
I also get nothing but robotic email responses to my inquiries -
I am fed up with Affiliate Junktion myself. The program seems like such a great way to make money online, but the actuality is that they don't take care of affiliates AT ALL. Maybe it doesn't matter - Maybe they have so many now that a couple of unhappy people won't bother them one bit. But as for me, I know I have a lot of people ask me about Affiliate Junktion. I used to say go for it, it's an easy way to make money...Get paid for free leads you know?
But the reality is that they change the terms & conditions whenever they feel like it. The NZD payments structure is incredibly cheap. And the slashing of 70% of leads is outright wrong - Remember, those are the actual LEADS - not just people who "visit" the site - The banner ads of Affiliate Junktion say "Get Paid for Free Leads!" - It's a crock -
No bonuses, no residual long term income. Forget them - I'm going back to focus on GDI. I don't need a company that changes terms and conditions any time they please. And I may not be some top marketing guru with thousands of fans, but I do have about 100 visitors every day. I'm going to tell each one of them about it - I hope I can save you from making the same mistakes -

The Difference Between "FREE" Exchanges
Sometimes I forget how far I've come along from where I started in February. I've surfed so much that I kinda skip over the basic stuff too often. Even in my email series, I realized it's assuming that people already know how to surf and use firefox etc. Tonight I added the Traffic Splash section to my list of best exchanges. The reason was because it's one of the best FREE exchanges that I've found online.
Yes, technically all exchanges are free - But there is a MASSIVE difference in the amount of time you have to spend at most traffic exchanges. The most basic example I always give is Hit2Hit - Outstanding traffic exchange. Tons of members, easy to surf, always highly ranked by traffic hoopla. But for those who are just starting, they may not realize that Hit2Hit is a 3:1 surf ratio. What that means is that if you don't buy an upgraded membership, you have to surf 3 sites to get 1 hit on yours. In my opinion, this is not how you should spend your time! Now, if your willing to spend some money (like I do), then it's a great exchange. Same with MaxTraffic Pro and SWAT Traffic, Dragon Surf - There are tons of them - and the bottom line is it sucks. We need traffic to our sites. When I say traffic, I mean TONS of traffic. I used to think getting 30 hits a day was good - It's nothing - You have to get hundreds of hits each day to get results. You have to get thousands of hits per month if you REALLY want to get any type of results.
So when I list my best free exchanges, it's based on them actually being good if you do not want to spend any money. Of course the short 5 list is kinda short - Great "free" exchanges are few and far between these days.
But if you want to stay free, while still getting the best results possible for your time, then join WebBiz Insider, Traffic Splash, EasyHits4U, HitSafari & maybe ClickRanch. For me, these are the best free exchanges I've found online. You get regular bonuses, quick surf timers and fair surf ratios. 5 Exchanges is actually a pretty decent number of exchanges to work with. Learn to use Firefox and surf them all at the same time (different windows - tabbed browsing) and you'll be fine
Using Traffic Hoopla can be very beneficial in building up downlines for your overall traffic building. But keep it simple until you can handle everything. As good as CyberWheelers program was, they recommended I surf 3 hours/night! For me, that is a ridiculous amount of time to spend surfing. It is MUCH BETTER if you focus your time & energy on 4 or 5 GOOD exchanges, versus spreading yourself out all over getting a few hits here and there, trying to manage 20 "free" exchanges.
Bottom line is this - Unless you get some results, your going to get frustrated and most likely quit. If you spend your time wisely, you will start to get results. Focus on the best free exchanges and move up when your ready -

My BEST Tip for Traffic Exchange Success
What I wanted to share with you quickly is my best tip for exchange success - Not that I have had a TON of success on exchanges or that I am some guru - I'm not - But I did get 200 signups to SpiderWeb in 6 weeks and I also got 220+ signups for my power training course...I did all of that only using exchanges - No matter what you are promoting, I believe there is 1 important thing that you must do. Well, hold on - make that 2 - The first goes without saying and it is simple...You MUST ADVERTISE LIKE CRAZY! By either spending a few bucks or surfing exchanges etc. If you think 100 hits a week to your site is getting you anywhere, you are in for a rude awakening...You need to be sending MASSIVE traffic to your sites - Traffic Generation needs to be a daily routine for you - period - When I stop advertising, my signups go right down...If I don't allocate credits or surf, I dont' get signups - end of story...
Now that I've beaten that topic to a pulp :) Lets get to the main point here.
You Must DIFFERENTIATE yourself and your advertising pages! I will admit that the pages I use are kind of cheesy...but you know what - They are different and they catch more attention than endless pages of affiliate sites that we see everywhere...Now this could probably also fall under that "branding" theme I've seen so much of myself - Honestly, I have never looked into that a whole lot, but I understand the message - The more people see your face or your product, the more likely they are to begin trusting it - Obviously if they keep seeing it, you must be doing something right!
So how do I differentiate myself? I use weird web pages and eye catching headlines. Are these hard to do? NO - Do you have to be an expert web designer? NO - There are plenty of free resources you can use to make your own splash pages - I used Google Page Creator and that is absolutely what I would have recommended to everyone but they stopped allowing new signups - You can use a blog and just have an eye catching title, short description and a link to your product. Here are 2 of my creations -

I threw my picture in at the bottom (don't laugh!) and even gave a link to my home site....don't copy my stuff, but you should see the point - Make your own mark!
It's easy to get caught up and want everything to happen for you overnight. Believe me I KNOW THE FEELING! But instead of working your butt off promoting the Wrong Way, spend some time creating your own splash page - Differentiate yourself from the crowd - Otherwise your just promoting the same old affiliate site like everyone else who isn't making any money or getting any referrals.

Totally Random Rambling
Since CyberWheelers closed last week, I've been looking for the best replacement that could really generate quality traffic for free. My last message was about using Traffic Hoopla as the replacement. As much as I do love Traffic Hoopla, I didn't feel it TOTALLY filled the need that CyberWheelers accomplished which was generating as much passive traffic as you can. I do believe you should be a member of Traffic Hoopla and read their newsletters, etc.
However, I found what I believe is an even better tool for generating a lot of traffic using only free methods. It's called Vital Viral and I joined it tonight.
First, this isn't a pitch - It's simply some further clarification on what I am looking for when I join online marketing programs. I am finding some success, but it comes from the SYSTEMS that I use. Whatever System you use, you need to make sure it's as effective as possible. If it's not, don't be afraid to dump it and move on. Anytime you do quit a certain program/system, keep track of what you DIDN'T like about it or what you felt it was missing. By doing that you will be able to better determine what you DO like and what you are looking for in any online program. For me, I can now tell w/in a few minutes if I have any interest in a program.
What I'm looking for are programs where I promote 1 link that builds a large downline for various other programs. The program should come with an easy to follow plan that everyone understands. It should supply splash pages and marketing tools that work on traffic exchanges. It should offer marketing resources in many different areas like exchanges, safelists, autoresponders, etc.
That would be the ideal of course. I understand that I have some legwork to do. I will have to start from scratch with most programs I join basically. But my HOPE is that by putting in the work now, I will reap the benefits later.
I don't even know how many programs I have joined to be honest. My guess would be around 20 different affiliate programs, 50-60 traffic exchanges, 10 safelists. What I use to do when I first started online marketing was promoting 30 different sites all over the place. I can't even guess how much I spent at EasyHits4U because that was the best exchange for unlimited URL's. I just figured anyone who saw MY product would see the value in it and join right away...This is why my first 3 months online were so frustrating. I didn't even stop to consider what I should be promoting - I just saw something that looked good, signed up and started sending traffic to it...Of course the problem was that when you try to promote 30 sites, you get really poor results on ALL of them. This didn't even take into consideration that I was mostly trying to sell directly on a traffic exchange - I promoted long affiliate pages which nobody wanted.
Okay, I'm getting very long-winded again and I apologize - HERE IS THE POINT :)
What we should be looking for is getting the absolute Most benefit from Our time. So how do we do that? The simplest way to do this is to build a downline. Granted, this is easier said than done. But it is something you absolutely must focus on and realize that is your main goal.
You also want to build your downline in a Simple yet Effective way. As in you promote 1 link that has the most potential to bring you lots of referrals/downline members for many programs...That is why I recommend the Hits2U, Home Income Team and Traffic Hoopla. All these programs give you a way to promote multiple programs by only promoting 1 link. They are also free and can build you referrals in various areas.
So what else do we want? Well, automated sure is nice. Hits2U & SpiderWeb both automatically follow up with your prospects on a constant basis. SpiderWeb is actually on the annoying end...I still get "have you started yet, Paul?" emails and I have 150 referrals :) So it's not perfect, BUT, most online marketers aren't go getters as much as I am, so for those 97%, SpiderWeb is going to bring back many of those prospects that were previously lost.
This is getting super long and was going to be an email about Vital Viral, which I really like the looks of. I joined tonight. Now I think this needs to be a blog post :)
So that's what this now is - A rambling blog post that was supposed to be a newsletter to my subscribers lol - Hey, at least it's honest...It's all over the place, but it's honest...I'll always have my dignity!
This whole week I have been trying to come up with an answer to the CyberWheelers problem. I feel bad even recommending CyberWheelers because what they really recommend is 3 hours/night surfing...If I know 1 thing, it's that online marketers are NOT long term thinkers in General. Those 97% are looking to get rich quick or move on. I do like the looks of Vital Viral - I like those "Earn $200/day with just your traffic exchange credits" pages they make - Those are great for traffic exchanges.
So I'm going to go through Vital Viral this week and see what I can get done. I do like the splash pages they make and I signed up for the $6/month Pro Membership - $6 is pretty cheap if I can make some of those pages and use it to build a list and earn referral credits at different exchanges...I really love the splash pages - If a surfer like me wants to sign up for them and take on ANOTHER project, I am guessing they are vey effective (relatively speaking lol)
alright, time to copy this into my blog now - That's all it's good for :)
I know what "The Answer" is now, by the way. It's actually quite simple. You get someone like me in your downline - That may come off bad, but it's the truth. If 5% of the people that joined my programs did anywhere near what I did, I would be making a fortune...That is really what the #'s story is about. You send thousands upon thousands of hits to your sites in hopes of getting a few dozen signups. After you do that for a few months, you end up with maybe a couple hundred signups. Of those signups, maybe a few of them will do anything with the program. Out of THOSE, you might end up with someone like me who is working hard to succeed and really wants it. I am guessing that my uplines LOVE ME - and who wouldn't? :) (okay, that part really WAS over the top, but it's real late now and I love to pat myself on the back :)

So what else do we want? Well, automated sure is nice. Hits2U & SpiderWeb both automatically follow up with your prospects on a constant basis. SpiderWeb is actually on the annoying end...I still get "have you started yet, Paul?" emails and I have 150 referrals :) So it's not perfect, BUT, most online marketers aren't go getters as much as I am, so for those 97%, SpiderWeb is going to bring back many of those prospects that were previously lost.
This is getting super long and was going to be an email about Vital Viral, which I really like the looks of. I joined tonight. Now I think this needs to be a blog post :)
So that's what this now is - A rambling blog post that was supposed to be a newsletter to my subscribers lol - Hey, at least it's honest...It's all over the place, but it's honest...I'll always have my dignity!
This whole week I have been trying to come up with an answer to the CyberWheelers problem. I feel bad even recommending CyberWheelers because what they really recommend is 3 hours/night surfing...If I know 1 thing, it's that online marketers are NOT long term thinkers in General. Those 97% are looking to get rich quick or move on. I do like the looks of Vital Viral - I like those "Earn $200/day with just your traffic exchange credits" pages they make - Those are great for traffic exchanges.
So I'm going to go through Vital Viral this week and see what I can get done. I do like the splash pages they make and I signed up for the $6/month Pro Membership - $6 is pretty cheap if I can make some of those pages and use it to build a list and earn referral credits at different exchanges...I really love the splash pages - If a surfer like me wants to sign up for them and take on ANOTHER project, I am guessing they are vey effective (relatively speaking lol)
alright, time to copy this into my blog now - That's all it's good for :)
I know what "The Answer" is now, by the way. It's actually quite simple. You get someone like me in your downline - That may come off bad, but it's the truth. If 5% of the people that joined my programs did anywhere near what I did, I would be making a fortune...That is really what the #'s story is about. You send thousands upon thousands of hits to your sites in hopes of getting a few dozen signups. After you do that for a few months, you end up with maybe a couple hundred signups. Of those signups, maybe a few of them will do anything with the program. Out of THOSE, you might end up with someone like me who is working hard to succeed and really wants it. I am guessing that my uplines LOVE ME - and who wouldn't? :) (okay, that part really WAS over the top, but it's real late now and I love to pat myself on the back :)

Training Part 4 - My Best Tip for Traffic Exchange Success
I wanted to say thanks again for using my own Power Traffic Course. What I wanted to share with you quickly is my best tip for exchange success - Not that I have had a TON of success on exchanges or that I am some guru - I'm not - But I did get 200 signups to SpiderWeb in 6 weeks and I also got 220+ signups for the course you are reading now - power traffic...I did all of that only using exchanges.
No matter what you are promoting, I believe there is 1 important thing that you must do. Well, hold on - make that 2 - The first should go without saying and it is simple...You MUST ADVERTISE LIKE CRAZY! By either spending a few bucks or surfing exchanges etc. If you think 100 hits a day to your site is getting you anywhere, you are in for a rude awakening...You need to be sending MASSIVE traffic to your sites - Traffic Generation needs to be a daily routine for you - period - When I stop advertising, my signups go right down...If I don't allocate credits or surf, I dont' get signups - it's that necessary that you keep up advertising...I'm giving you a solid BASE to get a lot of traffic to your sites. You still have to do some work though. You must surf, you must work on effective advertising and you must be constantly learning!
Now that I've beaten that topic to a pulp :) Lets get to the main point here.
You Must DIFFERENTIATE yourself and your advertising pages! I will admit that the pages I use are kind of cheesy...but you know what? They are different and they catch more attention than endless pages of affiliate sites that we see everywhere...Now this could probably also fall under that "branding" theme I've seen so much of myself - Honestly, I have never looked into that a whole lot, but I understand the message - The more people see your face or your product, the more likely they are to begin trusting it - Obviously if they keep seeing it, you must be doing something right!
So how do I differentiate myself? I use weird web pages and eye catching headlines. Are these hard to do? NO - Do you have to be an expert web designer? NO - There are plenty of free resources you can use to make your own splash pages - I used Google Page Creator and that is absolutely what I would have recommended to you, but they stopped allowing new signups - You can use a blog and just have an eye catching title, short description and a link to your product. I know I'm throwing these at you fast, but again, the most important thing is for you to have some early success. The faster you get through the setup, the sooner you can start driving traffic and getting leads & signups.
This email is about getting your promotion campaigns really going strong! The first place I am going to recommend is Link Referral - Now, it's not a typical traffic exchange with timers, etc. Quite simply it's the Best Free Targeted advertising you can get! LinkReferral is great, but you need to keep your site in the top 10 as much as possible. You need to spend about 20 min's day viewing sites and reviewing a few. I choose to pay $35/month and my site is ALWAYS in the top 10. This is $1/day for the best advertising source I know of. Either way, GET YOUR SITE TO LINK REFERRAL FIRST! For free traffic, you can't beat it.

Next, lets decide how to best spend our money. Now, if you have decided to go 100% free, use Traffic Hoopla to the fullest. They have excellent guidelines and recommendations for traffic generation. Remember it's a Daily Process! If you have the time to surf, please surf the best exchanges and allocate your credits wisely. Use my favorite free exchanges and get as much traffic as you can. Well here is what I got - 2,800 credits/month, delivered on a daily basis. 5 downline members added to every month (30 total downline members that I can email and send promotions to). 2 credits for every site I surf AND Credits from my referrals surfing!
So basically I end up with 30 prospects and 120+ hits/ every day for $10/month! On a Premium Traffic Exchange! Oh yeah, this also included 10,000 banner impressions every month and a bunch of text link impressions. Talk about a steal - Now this offer isn't handed out in every email, but when you see something that good, SPEND THE MONEY!
Anyway, this isn't a be all and end all list for you - It's just some suggestions to get you STARTED. Nothing in my program is set in stone. As much as I'm trying to teach what works for me, there are things you have to learn yourself. You also have your own personality and creativity. Some of the exchanges I love, you might hate. You may have some great advertising resource I've never used. So take it for what it is - An immediate way for you to drive traffic to your websites. Once you start driving traffic, you WILL get signups and referrals...it's just a matter of numbers.
These should help get your marketing going so at this point you should be focusing on driving traffic to your sites. There is more to come, but for now, you are ready to get started. This series is not over...I have more tips & tools, but I want you to focus on driving as much traffic to your sites as you can.

For you, decide how many hits you want to your site and base your surfing & spending on that. If you want 20k hits/month, you simply need 2,000 hits/month (avg.) on 10 different exchanges. That works out to 500 hits/week for each exchange, or about 70 per day.
Figure out what you want and how to accomplish it. Go in and allocate your credits on a daily basis and try to keep up. Adjust your goals and figure out what works for you.

Training Series - Part 2 - THE BUSINESS
Welcome to part 2 of my own online business building series. I hope you've had a chance to set up your traffic exchanges with your rotator URL. I want to make sure you have that done because you will need to have that ready before you start this step.
You should also get familiar with surfing using the Firefox browser and comfortable surfing 5-7 exchanges at the same time. You need to be comfortable with the surfing aspect because once we launch, I want you to hit it hard right away!
Don't get discouraged if your not ready - it's fine! Just take it slowly and get back to this email when you ARE ready.
So now that you have these exchanges set up, what do you promote? I am sure you have at least 1 affiliate program you are a member of. I know in my first 6 months I tried over 20 different programs. They all fell short for me and I ended up giving up on them. Everytime I quit one, I learned something about it that I did or didn't like.
In general I felt that most of them left me to do ALL the work and didn't give me much help when it came to that. I understand it takes some work, but without help I was bound to fail. I had no idea what I was doing or how to do it. They just signed me up and shipped me off.
In case you think I'm just bs'ing you, here is a short list of stuff I failed with.
SpiderWeb - I got 200+ signups in 6 weeks and made NO money. It's a brilliant system, but everyone signed on thinking everything is free. The fact was that you had to be a paid member of the programs to earn anything. I got a few signups for GDI and that was it. I couldn't afford to spend the several hundred per month to join all the programs.

You should also get familiar with surfing using the Firefox browser and comfortable surfing 5-7 exchanges at the same time. You need to be comfortable with the surfing aspect because once we launch, I want you to hit it hard right away!
Don't get discouraged if your not ready - it's fine! Just take it slowly and get back to this email when you ARE ready.
So now that you have these exchanges set up, what do you promote? I am sure you have at least 1 affiliate program you are a member of. I know in my first 6 months I tried over 20 different programs. They all fell short for me and I ended up giving up on them. Everytime I quit one, I learned something about it that I did or didn't like.
In general I felt that most of them left me to do ALL the work and didn't give me much help when it came to that. I understand it takes some work, but without help I was bound to fail. I had no idea what I was doing or how to do it. They just signed me up and shipped me off.

Training Series - Part 1
I am putting in these blog posts so that subscribers can have an easy way to get a COMPLETE overview of Power Traffic and come back anytime.

First of all, I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for subscribing. This will be a short series that I put together from my own experience of what works for me. Check out the series and you can choose whether this is right for you or not. I will share my complete business building plan and show you how to start earning with it right away. It will take you a little bit of time and effort to get setup, but remember that anything worth value is worth putting your time into!
My disclaimer is simply this: I don't have "The Answer" - I don't find online marketing to be particularly easy. It's work and if you think you'll become rich in a week, stop fooling yourself. However, what this WILL do is give you a rock solid foundation for generating traffic and begin building a real online business.
Experts estimate that a new person looks into making money online Every 2 Minutes. That is a staggering number! Did you know that 97% of them fail? It can be very frustrating and I have almost quit a few times myself.
This will give you some tools that will help you get passed the learning curve and give you a very solid foundation for building traffic and getting prospects for whatever business you choose. I have been involved with over 20 different affiliate programs myself. I started in February 2008 and my first 6 months I invested a lot of time, money and resources. For the most part, all I really got were great "lessons".
That's about as much of a speech as I can give you. I'm going to dive right into the training series so you can get going right away. Please don't get overwhelmed! There will be a lot of stuff here but just take your time and do it step by step.1st thing you need to do is get yourself a Rotator. You will be using 1 rotator on all your traffic exchanges. A rotator is essentially a tool you can use to add any website address you want, and assign it a weighted value. The higher the value, the more of your hits get sent to that particular site.
The best thing about a rotator though is that it makes your life a LOT easier. Instead of running around changing your websites at 10 different exchanges, you just change your rotator. Whatever your rotator is set to will AUTOMATICALLY update all your exchanges for you. This is a great tool to have and I wish I had found one earlier in my marketing career - It would have saved me a LOT of time!
First, join TrackThatAdFor the purposes of this email series, you only need the 1 rotator.
For starters you will need your rotator URL - It will look like http://www.trackthatad.com/?s=xxxxx (with the xxx's being YOUR personal rotator number). We are going to enter our rotator as our Main URL on ALL Traffic Exchanges.Using 1 rotator is going to allow you to maximize your advertising efforts. Traffic Exchanges are simply a numbers game - A rotator will allow you to focus your efforts to the sites that perform the best for you.Also, if the exchange only allows 1 url (like WebBiz Insider) then you just enter your rotator as the 1 site. Anyway, I'm probably going on and on, but once you use one and have to change things 1 time, you'll see how useful this is.Now that you have your rotator, it's time to setup (or update) your traffic exchanges.Whether you are brand new to traffic exchanges, or consider yourself a veteran, I want you to read my blog post on Beginners Guide to Traffic Exchanges. You can find it here. I have my own "top 5" exchanges to join. My top 5 is based on simply this: The Most Credits for your TIME (not money - I will get to spending later)
My best recommendation for doing this completely free is to join Traffic Hoopla. They update the top 25 traffic exchanges on a weekly basis. You should use them and join a few exchanges from there. Again, I recommend my blog post for beginners - EasyHits4U, HitSafari, WebBiz Insider, Traffic-Splash and 4x4 Hits are some of my favorites and you will get the best surfing ratio and quality traffic for your time. Make sure your getting at least a 2:1 surf ratio though. If you join Hits2U (always highly ranked) you get a 3:1 ratio (meaning you surf 3 sites and get 1 hit for yours) - DO NOT SPEND YOUR TIME AT A 3:1 EXCHANGE. They are very good exchanges, but not unless you are getting a good surfing ratio.
You need to download Firefox and learn how to surf with what is called Multi Tab Browsing - This sounds complicated, but it's really very easy to learn. Download Firefox, type in the address for 1 exchange and log in. Then, just go to FILE and open a new tab. Open your next exchange and log in. Rinse & Repeat. Personally, I get the most surfing done with 8 pages. You can open 12 or more, but with 8 you will be able to get through the pages faster - This will help you REALLY rack up credits. Surfing 8 pages on Firefox means your basically getting 8x the results, with the same effort. Start with 3 or 4 to get the hang of it, but add more as you learn it. For me, I'm able to get almost 800 credits each hour of surfing (overall).
This is the only way to surf anymore. We need massive credits to generate traffic. You need to get those credits as efficiently as possible. Don't go so fast that you miss your bonus credits though. Make sure you can at least see what's going on :)
If you use Traffic Hoopla consistently you can start generating 10k hits/month, but it will take you some time. In my opinion, time is money. You can choose how to spend either.
The option I like, if you can afford it, can start sending 10 - 15,000 hits per month (or more) to your site, Right Away. Without advertising you will get very few results...and then you will quit (like 97% of online marketers). I have wasted a couple thousand in online advertising that got me ZERO results over a 3 or 4 month period.
What I will show you will cost you $54 to start and will start getting you results almost immediately. That is a very small amount to pay when it basically covers your advertising costs for a couple months. Once you start getting referrals and leads, you are much more likely to stick with your online business. Please name me 1 other business you can start (effectively!) for $50? It took me 5 months and a LOT of frustration before I started figuring anything out. This can help you right away.
What I recommend is Home Income Team and their Traffic Exchange Pro Upgrade. My own email training series
Well I spent last week Furiously writing up my own email training series about what I've been doing to get tons of traffic lately. It's not exactly polished and it's not what I would call "The Answer" but I do believe it's a great start for online marketers who don't know how to advertise - Actually it's probably great for about 80% of online marketers..It includes the Home Income Team pro upgrade at 7 exchanges and using Hits2U & SpiderWeb for promoting GDI indirectly. I could have included a couple other programs that promote GDI as well, but quite honestly they don't "Force" your prospects through any system...The Hits2U does all the follow up for you and gets TONS of people advertising their site for free. The SpiderWeb is really the best at getting people into GDI though - The video training starts with GDI and explains why it works so well. Also, the rest of SpiderWeb is really awesome with the other income streams. I haven't even spent much effort other than getting set up for Direct Matches, Yuwie, Google Adwords etc, but I'm getting referrals and signups for them all...by just promoting SpiderWeb - The only thing I wish was that they had a splash page I could use - I don't think the SpiderWeb pages are good at all for exchange traffic (except the video part - at least the audio has some good qualities for exchanges) - Still, I made my own splash page and only use that for exchange traffic...
So far in 3 days I have 40 signups for the email training series I set up - I have one of my downline members who has 2 signups in 4 days since I sent her my "test" series to see what she thought - Now does 2 signups generate headlines worth writing home about? Probably not - But considering how many people expend a lot of effort and NEVER get signups, it shows that it can work - Regardless of if it's perfect, it's a good start for the majority of online marketers who have no idea what to do...Most people also think exchange traffic is just a waste, which isn't true at all - Traffic Exchanges are full of nothing but opportunity seekers! You just have to present your opportunity the right way...I think my email series does this very well - And 40 signups in 3 days is the most success I've had with any program I've set up...It took me 2 months to get 30 email addresses with Get Google Ads Free, so this kind of response is encouraging...It shows me that I'm at least KIND OF getting the hang of this...

Great story I read the other night
Basically traffic exchanges are about numbers, plain and simple. If you drive 30k hits/month to your sites, you will start to get signups/referrals/leads (as long as your using the RIGHT sites!) A great story is the one about Bill something (sorry, only the story is important) who basically made himself a billionaire with Amway. CNN interviewed a bunch of Amway business men who basically complained about how they couldn't do it and it's a waste of time...the typical stuff you get from online marketers who also fail...Anyway, the end of the show they interviewed Bill and asked him what his secret was..."There is no secret, it's just a numbers game - I showed the plan to 1,200 people, 900 said no. Of the 300 that said yes, 85 actually did something with it. Of the 85 who did something, 35 worked hard at it. Of those 35, 11 people were successful and made me a billionaire"
The point of this story is that online marketing is very much this same way. So many people sign up expecting to be rich and retire in a week. They are looking for that magic button where they promote it for a week and become rich. I did the same thing when I first started - It's easy to buy into all the hype out there! All you can do is stick to it - Keep promoting as effectively as you can...things will come together - you WILL start to figure things out and have some success. Once you figure out which avenues work, your business will start to grow. Just keep plugging away at it and don't give up.
The point of this story is that online marketing is very much this same way. So many people sign up expecting to be rich and retire in a week. They are looking for that magic button where they promote it for a week and become rich. I did the same thing when I first started - It's easy to buy into all the hype out there! Beginner Guide to Traffic Exchanges
If your brand new to using Traffic Exchanges, there is a LOT to learn. This is my simple guide to using them effectively, in as short & sweet fashion as I am capable of :)
First I want you to keep this as simple as possible while you are learning. I recommend using at least 5 exchanges even as a beginner, but if you want to just use 1 to get a feel, go ahead.
My Guidelines for how to use Traffic Exchanges Effectively:
SPEND YOUR CREDITS WISELY! They go darn fast once you allocate them so spend them wisely. Try to figure out your montly goal and how to achieve it. For instance, if you want 2,000 hits/month, you need to earn 500 credits per week. If you use 5 exchanges all you need is 100 credits, per week, on each exchange - This is about 1 hour of surfing a week. Surfing is WORK, in my opinion - It's not fun - It is only a vehicle to promote my business and I don't waste my credits.
Promote mostly Free advertising for THEIR business. They are NOT interested in more business opportunities so no selling. Selling directly on a traffic exchange is a huge mistake. They are all their to promote their business, not join a bunch of new ones (when they aren't succeeding with theirs in the first place)
Use only Splash Pages - Quick & to the point pages. You only have a couple seconds to grab attention and if they have to scroll, it's not going to work very well. Your results will go WAY up if you are promoting FREE Opportunities that are simple and to the point!
Remember that this is a process: You aren't going to get rich next week. You are going to spend your first couple weeks only learning about how exchanges work. Please be patient and don't give up when it doesn't "Happen Overnight" for you
Don't Miss Your Bonus Pages: HitSafari, 4x4Hits & TrafficSplash Especially are on this list because of the bonus credits you can earn. Learn where they are and try not to miss them. Those 3-7 bonus credit links will add up Quick, so make sure your getting them.
Don't be stupid - If your goal is to get referrals on other traffic exchanges, don't waste your credits promoting an exchange on the same exchange. As in, don't put up a HitSafari Referral Page ON the HitSafari site! I hope you just said "I would never do this", but I see it all the time while i'm surfing - PLEASE don't waste your credits this way. THEY ARE TOO VALUABLE TO WASTE!
Focus your efforts! Promote only 3 or so websites at each exchange. Remember that a GREAT signup rate is 1 for every 120 page views so choose your BEST pages to promote. Don't promote 12 different sites poorly. Promote 3 sites with efficiency and get maximum hits! You will figure out quicker what pages work and which don't. If your trying to promote 20 URL's, your going to get poor performance for 20 sites! Even as a pro member at many exchanges, I only promote 3 or 4 different sites, and I drive a LOT of traffic.
Okay, for beginners I recommend only FREE Exchanges - And the best free ones I know are as follows:

That is a good starting point I think. I have more tips but you aren't going to learn everything in a day or 2. It's going to take you some time. Join a couple exchanges and get a feel for them. It took me 5 months to get to this point now. I know this article will save you at LEAST a month of wasted, Frustrating time on exchanges.
Just remember that opportunity seekers don't surf exchanges for FUN - They surf to promote their business and are looking for things to benefit them. Keep that in mind and you'll figure out your own style and what works for you.

No magic buttons, but here are my preliminary thoughts
I know you HATE long reading about ways to make money online etc - It's not perfect because I am Not an internet master. I am not making a fortune with my efforts...I don't have a magic key or program for you that says "if you sign up for me today, you could be rich tomorrow" - BLAH BLAH BLAH - I'm a avg guy trying to make money online, that's all -
First, here are my disclaimers (as if the previous paragraph wasn't enough lol!)
I am Average - Not a guru, not an expert, not some online marketing master who can give you the Magic Button where you do nothing and still make money
Now that is out of the way, I'm going to try to give my own guide to generating traffic & creating a real online business that will benefit all of us.
Here are MY Goals:
Residual Income - The real kind where you and I both work LESS and earn MORE.
Auto-Pilot - Programs that do a lot of the follow up FOR YOU (it's a lot more work otherwise!)
FREE Programs - Easy to "sell" and get lots of signups for - Surfers want Free, Period.
Simply Put - My goal is to build downlines and earn RESIDUAL income with the least amount of work as possible. I don't want to call people - I don't want to spend hours online - I want to build an online business where I can help my dowline succeed. If they succeed, I will succeed...It's that simple - So despite all the big promises and wild claims of online marketing, I'm going to "TRY" and stay honest - I know that sounds stupid, but I can't help it.
Now that we have MY goals out of the way, we can talk about HOW we get to the above -
This is MY current project and recommendations on how to START:
I am trying to implement a "funnel" system - My Main Income Generator is GDI. Now you may have heard of GDI. I know I had heard of them for several months. I never signed up because it didn't seem like a good opportunity. All I saw was the same boring lead pages everywhere.
Why did I choose GDI? Because it's an incredibly powerful residual income tool. IF you can get signups and those signups get other signups, you can make SERIOUS money with GDI. The keyword of course is IF - So GDI CAN BE a great program - The only question is HOW DO WE MARKET IT SUCCESSFULLY?!?!?
Do I have the "formula" for successful online marketing? Afraid not. I don't have pages of income statements I can show you. I don't have my Paypal Cashouts to show you proof that THIS WORKS.
I have what I feel is a good start...

2: Splash Pages are much more effective in General (again, my opinion but short & sweet is key)
3: I'm TRYING to be different - I can TELL you I'm different 1,000 times, but how do i PROVE that I'm actually going to be here for YOU when you get stuck? I can't prove it - but i can differentiate myself from the crowd and that MIGHT be enough to get extra interest.
So that all sounds great but WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THESE PAGES?!?!?!
It comes down to 1 "end" purpose - Promoting GDI - The more signups I get into my free programs, the more likely I am to get people who see the value of joining GDI. It may take 100 free signups to get 1 real person involved, but that comes down to a simple numbers game. If I get 100 signups and 1 person joins GDI, then all i really need is MORE TRAFFIC. 200 signups would be 2 GDI signups, right? This is approximate and completely exaggerated of course. Some programs will get you 100 signups and ZERO that follow through, while others you can have 5 signups and get 4 people who understand how great it is and work hard with the program.
So how do we get enough signups so that we end up with enough "real" prospects?
Getting a lot of free signups is great - It means you are learning about what ACTUALLY Works, at the very least. But you don't need 50 free signups - What you need is a System that goes step by step and holds their hand and walks them through the process. For instance, Home Income Team is the first site that taught me HOW to promote, but their system doesn't do automatic follow up and it doesn't guide signups through each stage. What does? SpiderWeb & GRIN team! So what do we do if we believe that is true? We try to get signups for SpiderWeb & GRIN because those programs will be LEADING prospects into the business. See the difference? With SpiderWeb especially it walks you through each step - Using video training and thorough explanations to map out WHY the SpiderWeb System Works.
Wow I got off on a serious tangent there, but my blog is for tangents and my own thoughts :)
Basically, here is what I am doing:
I got the Home Income Team Traffic Upgrade Offer - This gave me pro upgrades at 7 exchanges. It's $54 (2nd chance - cheaper if you sign up for the one time offer). I like most of the exchanges it gives upgrades for.
In order to get 20k hits/month I need an avg. of 2k hits/month for 10 different exchanges
With the HIT Traffic Upgrade I get the montly credits and a better surfing ratio, but i still MUST SURF to get value here. I HATE surfing - It's all work in my opinion - So I want to do the least amount of surfing as possible -
You Need 500 hits/week OVERALL on 10 exchanges to generate 20k hits/month. You will not get 500 hits/week on EACH site unless your a surfing maniac (i'm not!) so you have to allocate your credits and choose your surfing time wisely!
I pay for packages at 3 or 4 exchanges. I buy the 5,000 hits/month package from SWAT Traffic, the 3,500 hits/month from ILoveHits and 3,500 hit package from HitPirate - In total these cost me $36/month - BUT, this is 12,000 hits/month I don't have to surf for. For me personally, my time is very valuable - $36/month for 12k hits is a great deal!
If you can't buy hits or want to stay free, I totally understand - In this case, spend your time at the following!

Email to my online marketing friend
I got an email this morning from an online marketing contact basically asking me how I promote successfully. My first thought of course was, I DON'T KNOW...I know everyone wants to know exactly WHAT they can do to be successful online, w/out losing a bunch of money. His question was very straightforward and honest - It goes to the exact reason most people quit online marketing...There is no ANSWER - There are no magic buttons or any magic programs that give you everything you could ever ask for and more. All that I have found is Trial & Error. After almost 5 months in online marketing, I am JUST getting to the point where I'm figuring some good stuff out. I know how to deliver traffic and I have a "general" understanding of what does work better with traffic exchanges. But again, I don't have any "answers" for those type of questions. All I can give is my own experience and what kinda works for me - Here is my (LONG) response to him:

I primarily use Traffic Exchanges as my main advertising source. I spend about $200/month overall on my advertising - I could spend less, but I would rather pay a little bit for pro memberships at exchanges and surf less. I pay $35/month for top advertising at Link Referral - This is, by far, my best advertising for any free money making opp's - I always get lots of signups this way.
Other than that, I pay for premium memberships at about 4 exchanges right now - This, along with my 2 hours of surfing a week get me about 20k hits per month. I'm still in a beginner stage myself and don't KNOW the best ways to advertise - I had actually spent $1k my first month online and got nothing - No signups, nothing. So I know what it's like to waste a bunch of money -
If you can do traffic exchanges and surf say 3 hours a week, you can get signups this way - What I use is the Home Income Team Traffic Exchange offer - It's $54 but gives you pro membership to 7 different exchanges...Most of which are 3 months long (some are only a month though, and if you don't like the exchanges, make sure to cancel) -

See this is still pretty new to me as well. All I know is that traffic exchanges DO work, you just have to know WHAT works. For instance I only advertise 4 referral links on exchanges

These are quick and to the point - The Google Pages are rough, but I made them myself. If you decide to use traffic exchanges, which i recommend, you should ONLY use quick, splash page type of advertising with the intention of getting leads - that's it - not signups, not sales, leads -
The SpiderWeb System IS absolutely conducive for newbies. It walks you through each video series step by step as you set up each system. GDI is $10/month, but I set up the rest of the system w/out spending a dime...Also, Yuwie should be a good additional stream of income - They say Social Networking is the next wave of online income, so it's good that I'm learning that now -
Right now I'm at the Google AdWords step - I haven't started yet because I'm not sure exactly if I want to spend that couple hundred yet...It might work well, but it's a $$ commitment - Then again, you can set a daily expense to keep your costs down.
Also, SpiderWeb Support has NOT been that great for me - I spent a full week setting everything up and I got no answers from the forum messages I left or anything. That's why I'm trying to be as helpful for my team as I possibly can - I want them to have a good experience and succeed with it - I know I've lost a good few months online, spent plenty of money and got nothing accomplished - That's why so many people quit.
I believe this is a good program and that is my 100% honest opinion...It's a brilliant program, actually - They are rolling out the new income streams this week so we'll have even more ways to earn - But as far as Super Effective advertising, I'm only good with Traffic Exchanges...and to do that, you have to get a LOT of hits to your sites...
To put it in perspective, there is a testimonial on the front page of Traffic Splash from an online marketing GURU who gets 1 signup for every 120 views...And that is the Front Page Testimonial! So it's about getting HUGE amounts of traffic here to be successful. But think about this - If you have 1% from 20k hits/month, you'd have 200 signups/month - Now that's over-simplified of course, but that's the way you should be looking at exchanges. Low conversion rates so you MUST send TONS of traffic!

New Marketing Theory
Been spending the past few weeks 'reinventing' myself, if you will. It started when I found Home Income Team. The entire theory behind HIT is to give online marketers what THEY need. Once I started reading through the HIT introduction I was hooked. I'd been online for several months and had not found a program where I didn't have to "upgrade" to get any benefits. HIT gave me great splash pages that didn't include me buying a bunch of extra stuff like hosting, autoresponders, any of that - It's all on "auto-pilot" - Well to say the least, I was hooked. This actually made SENSE for me! Online marketers are not looking for another business. They are looking for advertising for THEIR business!
So I started promoting the free reports and free signup pages like crazy! I bought the Home Income Traffic Package which was $54, but gives me pro membership at 7 different exchanges! Most of them are for 3 months. I purchased this because it just made a ton of sense - If I surfed an "avg" of 30 sites/day, I would get 40,000 hits overall with this upgrade package! That is serious traffic - And it works like a charm - In 3 weeks I have over 50 signups and about 20 leads. I have actually been delivering close to 20,000 hits in 3 weeks. I have Link Referral, EasyHits, ClickRanch and Traffic Eagle & Surfing2Success already - So with those I just allocated hits. I spend about an hour and 1/2 surfing per week where I just POWER SURF! I open 8 tabs and just wiz through those bad boys. I get myself about 300 credits/week this way on each exchange. Between the pro credits already and my surfing credits, I'm easily able to deliver 20k hits/month in only 2 hours surfing/week - which is an amazing amount of traffic!
What this leads me to is my new marketing theory! DUH - Hey, my blog is FOR my long-winded self :) So with Home Income Team you have a choice to sign up for the "income streams" - GDI is one of these streams - $10/month - Now, I never had any interest in GDI - Saw the same stagnant sites over and over. But with Home Income Team, it's part of the "option" - So I figured since I was getting signups, I might as well get GDI for $10/month and see if anyone signed up under me. Seems logical that if you get a new program, you also want to earn money with it...I figured I would get at least a decent % of GDI customers...I tried Success University but as soon as I read about calling people and talking to prospects, I was out - A lot of Big Time Online Marketers use that though, so maybe I'll have to look into it later...
Anyway, so I joined GDI - Then I remembered Hits2U ALSO has a GDI program...You sign up for the free advertising and if you WANT, you can use Hits2U as another income source by signing up with GDI and then anyone else who you refer can choose to join GDI as well - Thereby giving you more referrals -
See the beauty of these programs is that they only give FREE advertising away - That's it - See it's hard to "sell" anything online - Think about it...What are you surfing exchanges for? To get credits to promote YOUR business. And you don't want to surf endlessly - it's part of the "work" - So when you see free advertising and free resources, you are more likely to pay attention and maybe consider the offer - Then if you give an email, sign up whatever, you can take a look into it later. That's all these free resources are designed to do - Give away free advertising and hopefully the surfer will check it out later, when they get a moment - But at least you get a chance to tell them about YOUR products, when they aren't on a 10 second timer...
So here I have 1 GDI account and I have 2 free programs that both INDIRECTLY promote GDI - No pressure, no signing up, no "pro upgrades" - It's a very warm way to welcome someone into your business. Does it work? It works better than selling online, for sure, but as far as really working, I would say a 1% signup would be GREAT - That's the point of delivering massive amounts of traffic to your sites though - 20k hits/month, maybe 1% return would get you 200 signups a month -
This is the thiking anyway....I also joined the SpiderWeb System and GDI is their MAIN income earner, so I will have 3 good ways to promote GDI - Only problem is I'm getting ZERO support from Spider Web - I like what they talk about and I know how to deliver traffic and get signups, but it's never good when I post 2 messages on the forum and nobody answers me.
Anyway, what I'm trying to get is a "funnel" system...I don't know if it's THE ANSWER, but it's a step in the right direction for sure - My signups and referrals have never been better -

Lots of thoughts & Stragegies
Lately I'm trying to take the "next step" in my online marketing career. I am trying to come up with theories and strategies for what actually works and what doesn't. A little background on the past couple weeks: This past week I got into 2 new programs - my own free adboard and a new affiliate program from ClickBank. The Free ad board was something I wanted to do for a little while now. I think it's a good resource for list building and general promotion.
This is where my online marketing mind has been lately: We should be using traffic exchanges to build a list! Build a "funneling" system in order to gain trust & credibility. I believe in what I'm doing - I know I keep saying the same thing over and over, but it's true. I also have learned that the traffic methods i'm using have a very A.D.D. attention span - You MUST grab their attention right away and show them what's in it for them. I found Vital Viral this week and I think that is the next promotion campaign I need to undertake. If you have surfed a lot of exchanges, you have probably seen the "if your not earning $20/hr surfing..." ads, that is where these come from - It's an excellent splash page and I signed up. I was already an OBA member but I wasn't using these to their full potential. I know I talked about exchanges a few weeks ago and how we basically had to be using "short & sweet" pages to promote with. These are critical - We are all surfing exchanges looking for things that help US succeed, as individuals. I can't imagine anyone surfing exchanges for fun - So we need to cater to that need - They (AND US!) want free promotion and that 'missing ingredient' to help their online marketing careers...
Do I have that answer yet? No - sorry - I'm working hard and am putting in the time, but i'm still learning this thing. The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know :)
Here is what I have learned though - Build a LIST! We should be spending most of our time building up steady traffic. Whether that be surfing exchanges or promoting a list builder, this is an important tool that we need. I use Explosive List - It's really great so far...If you have signed up with me, I hope you haven't felt like i've been spamming you - I really try not to - But I know that in order to share a good program with others, you need to email them.
Through explosive list and my new free ad board, I've gained over 100+ opt in email addresses. I gave everyone on my List a free upgrade on my ad board - That is the least I can do really - I want them to use it and promote their programs. But with that free upgrade, I get their email address so that I can remind them that I'm still here.
So my focus has been leading away from surfing like crazy - I understand that we get a lot of hits but honestly, it's exhausting...I was surfing TS25 the other night cause it's ranked highly - I found out that it takes me 5 credits to get 1 of my sites viewed - I want to put a bunch of !!! & ???? behind this because that basically means I am getting a 5:1 surf ration - Every 5 sites I surf I get 1 viewer to my site - How does a site like this get ranked in the top of exchanges?!?! (i've been waiting long enough lol) - And it's a 15 second timer to boot - What a waste of my time...I'm still working on my top 10 exchanges but here is my "short list"

But here's the thing...Hit2Hit is ranked #1 on Traffic Hoopla - It offers 4 sites and a 3:1 surf ratio (so we surf 3 sites to get 1 hit) - UGGGG - It's easy to surf, but I feel like if I surf 2 sites, that should earn me a hit - The 3 to 1 surf ratios annoy me. And if I'm surfing 10-15 exchanges, there is no way i'm paying for upgraded memberships at all of them. Can you imagine the monthly cost there? wowsers - So I gotta get a decent return while i'm surfing.
See that my mind is all over the place - I'm just trying to figure out the BEST ways to promote and earn referrals. What I'm thinking is that it's better to really focus on 10 sites (tops) and surf there exclusively. I'm just thinking that instead of half ass promoting 20 sites, get serious about steady hits for less sites, but more hits on those sites we choose - Since I cannot pay for premium memberships at all these sites, I have to pick the best sites that give fair returns for my surfing time (which I already hate LOL)
So I will finalize my top 10 sites soon and get those up on my exchange reviews. I didn't even put Link Referral & Traffic Swarm up because they are the best - there isn't even a discussion to be had...
I am actually leading a referral contest at Explosive List - amazing...I am NOT giving away my secrets until the contest is over though - Sorry but $100 1st place prize :)

Incredibly Busy but learning a lot
Well this has been a hectic couple of weeks. I am on my way to Hawaii as of tomorrow so I HAVE to get this blog posted! I have spent the past couple weeks really hitting up the exchanges. I focused on TrafficHoopla & Cyberwheelers. Both are really excellent for traffic generation. With CyberWheelers you join 50 exchanges and then enter your own referral ID's for each one. Now this took me aWHILE. I'm talking 2 nights and about 7 hours or work. And that was just setting it all up! But now I have 50 exchanges and I learned how to surf 10-12 exchanges at the same time. It's actually pretty damn cool. It takes a lot of work, I won't lie, but I have my main site up now on 30+ exchanges and I have credits and people are seeing my sites.
With CyberWheelers I now have the ability to surf 10-12 exchanges all at once, accruing hits for my sites on each one. I try to use the top ranked Exchanges as ranked by TrafficHoopla. I'm spending a lot of time at Traffic Splash, Hit Safari, Hit2Hit, I Love Hits, EasyHits4U & a few others that are ranked in the top 25. Like I said, took lots of time but now I just load up 10 sites and hit about 100 each in around of hour - So I basically hit about 1,000 sites instead of 100-200 like I was doing before. CyberWheelers recommends 3 hours but there is no way I can do that much.
I have figured out that Exchange Traffic is quite simply into the flash and dash. I have learned this through the ContactThem Program that I run on LinkReferral. It's free to sign up and says you will earn $4,800/month for putting links up on your site. In 6 weeks or so I have 150+ free affiliate sign ups on that program. That is an impressive # - In the meantime I've been promoting OBA quite a bit and have 5 sales. Now that is a fair amount I think for what I know about marketing. But with OBA you get a COMPLETE online business for only $5 - Honestly, for the money, there may not be a better business online. You get 100% resale and you can make money on the backend. However, despite my efforts, I've only gotten a few signups for that program.
What I'm leading at is that with Exchange Traffic it has been made abundantly clear that you need flash - Big promises and everything is free - So I took my home page down from most of the exchanges and replaced them with splash pages - Sales pages that don't explain much but deliver that Instant Gratification need that exchange surfers have. So far it's working well - I've gotten 8 new signups in day 1 with my new program (I'm going to list it in my next blog since I know we need the short & sweet version lol).
SO, when your deciding how to allocate your exchange traffic credits, make sure that your sites are quick and flashy - Now on LinkReferral this isn't a problem - there are no timers, no credits, none of that. You check out a site, review it if you like and move on. TrafficSwarm & EasyHits4u have longer timers which is nice - it actually gives your site a chance to be seen. But with all these 10 second surf timers, you better make sure your stuff is all on 1 screen, is free and very attractive - nobody likes to scroll or investigate - everyone wants instant riches and they want it to be easy. I happen to know for a FACT that things don't work this way - I've been working my butt off to just begin achieving some success, but it's coming around for me. And most of my programs I still benefit even if the person who signs up doesn't do anything with it. It's too bad to, because there are so many good programs I have found, but too many people are looking for the instant wealth.
I guess that's why 90% of people who want to make money online fail - They aren't willing to put in the work. It's not easy but the beauty of this whole thing is that if you put in the work NOW, you will start to generate real income later. I LOVE waking up and finding paypal notifications in my in-box. It's a pretty great feeling to have made money while I slept. I think this newest program will definitely generate more of that for me.

Week in review
Ended up not posting a week in review last week so I want to make sure and get this one in. This week was a real bummer & a reality check. First, I was supposed to be in Hawaii all last week but happened to be booked on ATA which of course went Bankrupt - Whooo Hooooo! So that was a crappy start - Then I saw my new credit card bill and it turns out I spent almost $800 in advertising & signups and what not this month. And I gotta say most of it was a total waste. Started a PPC campaign and Miva.com - Deposited $200 but couldn't figure out how to set a daily spending limit. They figured it out for me and dropped all $200 in 1 and 1/2 days! I was only advertising the new Income Accelerator Program and got Zero signups. Seems like a pretty crappy investment to me. Dropped another $80 or so on Viral Adwords where I paid for "Targeted Hits" - I got 5,000 hits basically dumped on my site over a whole 2 days. When I checked where they were generated from, Yahoo Stats said McClintock High School. So people searching for a High School in AZ is targeted traffic? To say the least I was none too happy with that spending spree.
I do have some pretty good news though. I found a new online business venture called Online Business Alliance. Recommended to me by my best networking friend. So I go to check it out and sign up and buy the $5 ebook. What I didn't realize is that this actually comes with a heck of a lot more than just an ebook! You get 2 choices after you pay - Download your ebook & move on, or Start your new business with OBA. So I started exploring. This is a pretty cool deal - For that $5 ebook I purchased, I get the entire OBA business package included! And it's a really impressive package - Splash Pages, Autoresponder Service, Advertising Ideas etc. I spent about 1/2 hour going through the Setup steps and the more I went through, the more excited I got about the business.
Basically I promote the business by selling the $5 ebooks. With that $5 ebook you get the ENTIRE online business package which comes with 12 splash pages, the autoresponder service, etc. The advertising suggestions is where I found a great site called TrafficHoopla. They give me a list of the top 5 Traffic Exchanges to join and then the remaining top 20 also. So I went and joined them all!
I really still have a TON of work to get this thing off the ground, but I believe it's a really great program. I love the NetSuccess programs, but I think this might work a lot better for the clients on Traffic Exchanges. Of course the Exchanges are 70% of my advertising right now, so I get to offer stuff that is cheap to sign up for.
I also signed up as an affiliate for IPower - I was considering opening a new blog JUST for promoting this. It is the cheapest hosting I have found and I can make $100 per referral which is really incredible. See I'm trying to think beyond the traffic exchanges. It's hitting me pretty hard that traffic exchange population is just a 5 second attention span kinda place. They want to see all flash and make $1 million tomorrow ALL FREE - I guess this is why exchanges are filled with flash - The kinda stuff I have seen way too much of - This is leading me to my next thought about the 90% of online business seekers failing and is something I want to write an article about...even though it may offend everyone who reads it (because they are all traffic exchange newbies). Basically my theory is that it only makes sense to target the 90% of people who are looking for all flash and instant wealth. They will sign up for anything and everything and then give up in 2 weeks when they haven't made it big. Well, if 90% of your traffic are strictly these kind of people, then THEY are who you are marketing towards - So give them all flash - I feel like what I'm doing is different, and helpful. But everytime I see a poor review from a fellow Link Referral member, it is Always someone with less than 5 ratings who pretty much JUST started. My site doesn't fit into that flash stuff - so maybe I should be promoting more Flash when it comes to exchanges and promote my own site with PPC campaigns - I would say that a LOT of the LinkReferral traffic & reviews are great - I have gotten a lot of positive comments from members there who realize that it takes more than 2 weeks to succeed. I am happy about that for sure - I just need to target the flash stuff on the exchanges, I'm thinking.
I'm also using the Pop Unders for the OBA splash pages - Right now i'm buying these from BuyHitsCheap.com. My understanding is that Pop Unders are great for flashy items and the OBA splash pages have that quick eye appeal. So far I've had a few signups come this way. And with BuyHitsCheap, I get 10,000 pop unders for $12.50 - I can set them to be used hourly, daily or all at once. I can set up multiple campaigns and delete them anytime. Right now I have 4 splash pages on pop unders and I will probably be examining which ones work best in a few days.
This is getting super long but I had a lot of stuff going on this week. Goal this week is to get my OBA set up on LinkReferral. I had some timing issues and now they cancelled that email I was using. I got 2 signups w/in a day there which was nice. Problem was I originally put a different program under that email and then requested a cancellation because I found out it was a huge scam (site closed next day - obviously patience isn't my strongest point lol). I decided to just add the OBA account instead, and of course 3 days later they got my cancellation request for the 1on40.com account -
So I gotta promote OBA like mad this week - I love the program and it's cheap to sign up for so I think it's an easy seller that should end up making good money at some point - Just gotta get the word out. I gotta get exchange credits so my sites will get seen on all these new exchanges. I think I'm cancelling my TrafficSwarm pro membership - I got 2,500 credits this month and they were GONE in 2 days! I can't pay $30/month for 2 days of credits - That is a lot of money with what I'm using for exchange traffic. I think I will cancel that and get the Pro Membership at Traffic Hoopla - not only is it a Great service & exchange, I also can earn $5 for each member I refer there - So I get a 2 for 1 deal with building up referrals on 25 different exchange sites and $5 per referral at TrafficHoopla (only if they go pro though) - For $20 per month I think that is a way better deal than the $30 I'm spending at TrafficSwarm...The ONLY reason I spend money on pro memberships is so I don't HAVE to surf - but TS has been eating my credits up like crazy. I've gone through 4,500 credits in less than 2 weeks this month...Thats ridiculous...
so as this has gotten INCREDIBLY long, I have to say goodnight - Lots of thoughts & Lots of work ahead of me. I have spent a TON of money this month so I really need to come up with a budget I can live with. I'm thinking $300/month for everything. I hope that will get me a decent start but we'll see.
