Power Traffic part 2: Building Your List

Welcome to part 2 of the series, building your own list.

It took me a long time to realize that I wasn't focusing my energy in the right places. I splashed all over the place. I would just sign up for program after program and go add it to my exchanges. With no idea if what I was doing was even working.

What your goal should ALWAYS be is to get the most effective results, with the least amount of work

If you are simply promoting straight affiliate links to business programs, you need to stop. The short answer is it doesn't work. Even if you drive massive amounts of traffic, you don't get many signups this way.

The longer answer is this: You will hear a lot of people say that traffic exchanges don't work and that they are a waste of time.

The truth is that traffic exchanges are full of people like you and me. People who are looking for ways to build and promote their own business.

Traffic Exchanges absolutely work, but you need to use them right.

When I say using them right, I also mean as effectively as possible. What this means is that you promote 1 or 2 things and drive massive traffic for each of those 1 or 2 things.

Your main goal with Traffic Exchanges needs to be building a list. You should make it your core goal, cause it is that important.

I sort out list building into 2 types: Program or Dowline List Building and Personal List Building.

Program List Building is where you use a program that gives you the opportunity to build referrals and leads (and a list) for various programs, by just promoting 1 link.

Personal list building is different in that you build your very OWN email list of people you can market new programs to. This will be your most effective list, if you do it right, and is incredibly valuable.

This email is about Program or Downline List Building.

I have joined a ton of different downline building programs and had varying degrees of success. Some just have so many programs in them, that 90% of referrals never even do anything with the program - It's just too complicated.

What you should be looking for is the best and most efficient way to build a downline, with the least amount of work.

Here are 2 programs that I use and why: Affiliate Funnel & Viral Pond

Affiliate Funnel is great for building up your own email list. It is also a great way to start building up referral credits in traffic exchanges. By building exchange referrals, you get more hits for your sites, by helping other people find good traffic exchanges. There is also a business building aspect where you get to promote you and your preferred programs.

It gives you a ton of great splash pages with your links already in. If you only used Affiliate Funnel, you will build up an email list, traffic exchange referrals and some extra income. It also gives you some leverage with business building, by giving you a spot to promote your programs.

I really like Affiliate Funnel for these reasons. It really teaches you a lot about how to start building a complete business online, while giving you all the tools to build a very solid base.

There is another program I use that builds up an email list and my business - whether you are in 1 or all of them. If your not in any of these programs, it gives you a chance to review them on your own time and take a look if they are right for you or not.

If you are already a member of GDI, Freebie Force or Pyrabang, then this is a great way to build up referrals in these businesses, while building your email list as well. There are some other downline builders here as well, but I'm trying to focus on the real reason I use this one:

Building residual income.

The problem most people have as members of any of the 3 programs above is finding ways to promote them. Viral Pond gives you a great way to do this.

Viral Pond uses GDI, Freebie Force and now Pyrabang as the 3 core businesses. It explains the benefits of each program and gives your referrals a chance to join any or all of them.

Affiliate Funnel gives this opportunity as well, but it's more "in the background" in my opinion, while Viral Pond makes building your residual income a top priority.

It does all the explaining, all the selling, and builds referrals in the background. By just promoting Viral Pond, you are really given a chance to build all 3 businesses with just 1 tool.

The most crucial thing, in my opinion and experience, is to get the most effective results for your advertising efforts.

Affiliate Funnel & Viral Pond both will build your list for you. You will gain traffic exchange referrals and business knowledge, while building a long term business that works for you behind the scenes - All you do is focus on giving exchange users what THEY need. And that is ways to build their own list, and promote their own programs etc.

When surfers see the same program over and over, they begin to trust it. When they start to see that so many people are in it, they begin to think they should give it a look.

You get all of that by just promoting 2 pages. The rest is done on autopilot.

And no selling! That is a big one -

Once you join and take a look around, you will hopefully begin to get an even clearer picture of what I'm talking about above.

Join Viral Pond Here

That should give you enough to do tonight. Join Affiliate Funnel & Viral Pond. Take a look around and pick 1 or 2 of the splash pages to add to your rotator.

Remember all of this is still setting up to get your promotions started strong and smoothly. We will get there shortly, but setting up right is crucial.

If you are in other downline builders and prefer them, that is great too. These are what I use for the reasons outlined above.

The next email is about building your Personal list and I believe it is the most important list you will have. In the meantime, you need to begin building a little bit of everything, with the best tools you have at your disposal -

Building your own list, getting more exchange referrals and begin building YOUR business plans
